About the service

The Oddset family plays a big role in the company’s portfolio. The Oddset family consists of Oddset (nowadays discontinued due to new technical platform), Challenge, Powerplay, Bomben and Matchen. They are all different games but under the same branding and GUI components.

My role

At my time at Svenska Spel I was responsible for the continuous design and a large part of the copywriting in the sports betting departement. I was responsible to manage and develop the design of the desktop and mobile web and the native apps (iOS and Android). The native apps I made from scratch (unfortunately discontinued due to new technical platform)

During this period I was working close to the product owner, project leader, art director, customer service and the development teams.

Statistics

Sports statistics

The users have a big interest in statistics, You can see some similarities to stock exchange here. Detailed data was delivered that had to be placed out with accuracy. This part was almost like a stand-alone application that we cross-used in other kind of sport games as well, see my presentation for the Tipsen games.

Complex filtering

Sometimes the sportsbook features up to 20 sports, all with their own nationalities, leagues and divisions. To meet the demands from the users we created a complex filter to give the ability to narrow it down to the match or team they are looking for. I also created a quick filter for the most common sports, placed in the primary part of the GUI, illustrated with pictograms for easy accessability.
